Review: It's Skin Power 10 Formula CO Effector with Phyto Collagen

I got this as a sample when I bought It's Skin Prestige Creme Hand D'Escargot back when I went to Korea for the summer. The snail hand cream was a dud unfortunately but the salesperson gave me two samples of this. Since my first impression of It's Skin was damaged by the hand cream, it took me awhile before I decided to give this one a try. But good thing I did!

Description (taken from the sample):
  • This is a high-potency serum with phytocollagen 51% to make skin firmer and younger leaving an immediately visible smooth look
  • An active ingredient, PGA quenches skin's thirst and gives soft moist veil on the skin for a healthy and vibrant complexion
  • After 4 weeks use, your skin looks radiant and resilient
My impression:

This product is from the Power 10 Line which is the top selling line from It's Skin. The salesperson kept trying to sell them to me when I was back in Korea too but I didn't know much about it so I didn't try. There are 11 products in this line, each targeting a different type of skin trouble. This one is the CO effector with collagen so it helps hydrate and firm the skin.

The serum are clear/cloudy liquid stored in 30ml ampules. Yes, only 30ml, but since they're quite watery in consistency you don't need that much to spread it all over your face each time. One sample is enough to last me 4 days with nightly usage and I applied pretty generously.

I used this as the last step of my skincare routine at night, after Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner toner. This power effector basically replaced Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask as my night cream. I didn't use it in the morning because it can get quite shiny on my face.

Since I'm still (relatively) young, my skin hasn't started to sag (yet). I've been trying to find a good collagen cream that I can use as prevention but also has immediate effects such as brightening (because my usual face color looks very unhealthy for some reason without a proper brightening product). So far the collagen creams I've tried like Etude House Collagen Moistfull Enriched Cream, Etude House Collagen Moistfull Cream and Skinfood Gold Caviar Collagen Serum provided nothing other than hydration. This is a problem because I wake up with that unhealthy yellow-stressed-out-lacking-sleep skin tone on my face, even though I may have been sleeping 8 hours and wasn't stressed out at all.

I was thinking this is just going to be something that does nothing but hydrates again..but I woke up the next day with my face brightened. My face looked healthy and radiant. I put on quite a bit before I sleep and was worried whether I would break out from it but no break outs. It was well absorbed, skin was hydrated, skin tone was even and healthy. I continued to use it for another 7 days with the same results.

I've read some other reviews for the other effectors from the Power 10 Line and it seems to have gathered some great reviews as well. So I decided to buy the full version of this as well as the Power 10 Formula VB effector which helps control sebum and minimize appearance of pores. Unfortunately it's quite overpriced ($18) on eBay so I've decided to try to purchase from GMarket! It's Skin has their own official shop in GMarket so I ordered from there. I'll let you know how it goes.

Summary:

Did not only hydrate like most collagen creams but showed overnight brightening effect
Did not break out despite putting on quite a bit the night before
Expensive on eBay, may have to get it through GMarket
$18 for 30ml on eBay

Grade: 4.5/5 (assuming it will help firm my skin and prevent it from sagging) because it also brightens and made me skin radiant overnight

Value: 3/5 because it expensive on eBay and not many sellers have it

Repurchase? Yes, I've already bought the full version.

  3. i'm using the vc effector now and i haven't seen any improvement yet. wanted to try this one at first because my friend said it yields the same result as estee lauder's advance night repair but ended up buying the vitamin c since i think i'm still young (20) and my skin hasn't sagged yet (like yours). but since i've read this review maybe i'll give this one a try after i've finished with my vc effector. thank you for the review :)

  5. HI there? I have a question can you only use one line at the same time or used two line (like CO & VC alternate maybe)?

    1. Hello :)
I tend to only use one because they're quite watery so you'd have to wait awhile for both to absorb.
