Review: Mizon Multi Function Formula All In One Snail Repair Cream

I've used tons of snails products, but most of them are masks. This is actually only my second snail cream. Mainly because the first one was so great already. My first snail cream was Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream, which worked wonders for me. In essence, it evens out my skin tone, calms the redness under my cheeks where I had a lot of acne scars, and brightens my whole face making it look like I got 12 hours of sleep. I can put it even over a pimple when I get one or two during that time of the month and it won't break out.

Paradoxically, however, one of the two problems that I have with Missha's snail cream is that it makes my face way too oily. When I put this cream on during the day, if I'm not careful and I keep touching my face, the oiliness WILL turn into a pimple. So to keep using this cream and not break out into pimples, I've been using Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever Pore Primer Essence for sebum control during the day.

My second problem was with the price. It's $39.99 on Missha's Canadian website for 47g of cream. $33 on eBay. Not exactly cheap. Mizon's snail cream is $20 for 75g on eBay! Half the price for 28g more cream!

      My impression:

Poorly description translated but this was the best that I could find. I've been curious to try other snail creams, but most snail creams don't have samples to buy off eBay and I've been hesitant to splurge $20-40 on something I've never tried before. But then I recently ventured into G Market to buy It's Skin Power 10 Formula CO Effector, and around the same time I saw this:

Clearly I couldn't resist! 75g of snail cream in 92% concentration, all for $1! Of course I have to pay for shipping, but I was buying It's Skin Power 10 Formula CO Effector anyway so might as well.

This cream has no scent, a milky color and sticky texture, as if it's really packed with snail slime. This was a nice contrast to Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream  which evidently had a fragrance and resembled a clear, making me wonder how they can make 70% of snail slime so un-slimy.

I wasn't expecting for any dramatic effects since I've already been using Missha for the last 6 months and that already contains 70% snail mucin. I've also heard that your skin can also absorb a certain amount of snail mucin so having more wouldn't help. After this experience though, I disagree with that statement. I say that because this cream evened out my skin tone and took away the redness from my acne scars even MORE. I definitely see an improvement compared to when I was using Missha.

I do see a bit of pore tightening as well, which I didn't see much from the Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream  But my pores have been well controlled lately so I'm not sure if it's totally attributable to Mizon's cream.

Also, this cream gives a matte finish. Probably not great for dry skin but for oily/combination skin people like me, this was perfect. I didn't have to put any sort of primer or sebum control anymore! Of course, I started getting oil production at around 4-5 hours after application but compared to the oil on my face that I get from Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream, I am already very happy.

BUT, this cream does not brighten my face very much. That's the only problem I have with this cream. Price-wise it's great..$20 for 75g. I've used this cream for 3 weeks now and I don't even think I'm down 1/5.

So now my plan is to use this cream in the morning to take advantage of its matte finish and oil control (which means I don't have to spend money buying a primer either). And I'll use Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream at night and hope that the brightening effects will carry through the night to next morning.

      Summary:

Evens out my skin tone and fades away the redness from the scars even MORE than Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream
Matte finish and better oil control than Missha's snail cream
Doesn't brighten my face very much
      $20 for 75g on eBay

Grade: 4.5/5 because everything is perfect except it doesn't brighten my face very much

Value: 5/5 because for $20, I'm willing to forgive the fact that it doesn't brighten my face as much

      Repurchase? Yes!

      1. That sounds pretty great!
Thanks for the review! I recently bought the Mizon Snail Gel Cream already, haven't decided how much I like it yet / not used it often enough.

      2. ...WHAT?!?!
        1 DOLLAR??? THAT IS CRAY!!
I've never seen such a deal before...gotta check out Gmarket. (How's the shipping though?)

You're making me want to try out snail products!! It didn't sound so appealing to me at first, but hearing about the benefits makes me wanna try it.

It's a shame it didn't do much for brightening your face. ;w; Or I would totally try this, cause I have a lot of redness/scars too on my face.

        1. Yeah I've never such a deal before either until this. But I've been checking out gmarket ever since and nothing similar has popped up. I guess that was a rare occasion.

The shipping is EMS so it's definitely more expensive. If the products you're looking for are already on eBay, I think eBay will always be cheaper unless it's a crazy deal like this one was. To be fair, I got my products in 3 business days (5 days in total with the weekend) but I don't really care that much about how quick it gets to me. I've heard shipping gets cheaper as the weight gets heavier but since it was my first time I didn't want to risk it with too many products.

And I definitely recommend giving snail creams a try. I think it's helped my face out a lot.

        2. Snail creams don't bother pimples right? If it doesn't, then I'm gonna go hunt for one for my next order. Which brands do you recommend I try?

Ah...only EMS, huh. :( Oh wells... I mean, I myself do order in bulk, but shipping can only get so "cheap," y'know...

And I've actually never ordered from eBay. I only ordered from Keautystore ('cause of point system, even though it is a bit pricey) and Roseroseshop (which is my new favorite!). Have you ever heard of these? :p

        3. I've actually only tried two snail creams so far: Missha and Mizon. Both have been pretty impressive though. If you have dry skin I'd go with Missha and oily/combination I'd go with Mizon.

Yes I order from roseroseshop too. And cosmeticlove though rarely cuz they jack the prices up. Roseroseshop's ebay store (rubyrubyshop or sth like that) has some pretty good sales sometimes. I've never tried Keauty store though...time to go check it out!

        4. I guess I will go for Mizon. Too bad there's no crazy steal for me. ;w;

And I know, that's what I hate about ordering these stuff online, 'cause you know how much cheaper it is in Korea.

        5. Haha I just tell myself the cost of buying a plane ticket there will always be more than whatever savings from buying cosmetics in Korea :D

      4. I simply have to try this one! I've been using Mizon's Snail Recovery Gel Cream (the pink one) for about a month now and I really like it. The only problem is that I have a dry skin so the gel is not moisturizing enough for me. Since this one is a cream and not a gel, I guess it should work better. Well, we will see :)
