Review: SUM37 (Su:m37˚ 1102) Extreme Time Control Cream

Finally getting around to trying these complimentary samples. I got this complimentary sample when I repurchased Sulwhasoo Essential Rejuvenating Eye Cream. I'm always looking for better night creams, because I know that my current night cream, Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask, won't be effective for me forever as I age and have drier, more wrinkly skin. In fact, I already think it's not the best for my forehead, which is showing signs of lines when I frown.

Description (from en.koreadepart,com):
  • Fermented for 1102 days
  • Creates smooth and healthy face by relieving skin tone
  • Controls moisture balance and promotes elasticity for skin
  • Artificial scent free, artificial pigment free, synthetic preservative free, additive free
  • At the last step of skin care, apply a proper amount to your face and tap lightly
My impression:

This is my first time trying out a product from SUM37. My impression of this brand is that it sits along the ranks of OHUI, IOPE, and HERA, so it's higher end than Skinfood, Etude House etc, but it's not as high end as History of Whoo and Sulwhasoo.

This sample was enough for 2.5 generous applications. It's a bit thick so I only used it at night for 3 consecutive nights. But it didn't clog my pores, break me out, or give me an allergic reaction. This cream definitely has no scent, but I can't vouch for the other claims that it has no artificial pigment etc.

This is a tough one. The product is not bad, but it didn't wow me either. I do think that it helped with my skin color in terms of brightness. I didn't revert back to my original dark yellow unhealthy jaundiced skin color the next morning, which has happened before when I tried other samples, like Etude House Collagen Moistfull Enriched Cream. And I felt like my face was adequately moisturised. But the big difference I noticed was when I cleansed my face in the morning. When I washed my face, it didn't feel as smooth as it usually does in the morning after putting on Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask the night before. So while this cream helps brighten my skin color, it doesn't calm/even out the little bumps that I have on my face.

I only tried this product for 3 days so I can't say much about its long term effects, but I didn't feel that it had any effect on my forehead which is showing some fine lines. So I won't be buying more samples of this one.

Summary:

Not a bad product, but didn't wow me either
Brightened my skin color but didn't even out my skin tone
$115 for 50ml or $12 for 25 samples on eBay

Grade: 4/5 because it moisturized and brightened my face but didn't even out my skin tone

Value: 3/5 because I can get Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask for less than $30 and it does more than this product

Repurchase? No

  1. Hi, I just came across your blog. You sure tried a lot of brands and gave us a lot of helpful reviews. I love to read them. I heard a lot of good thing about De la mer cream. It will help you with anti-aging. Though its is expensive, $155 for 1 oz but cream is very thick and will last maybe a year. I heard it works wonder. I will try De la mer in 2 days more. If it works, i will come back and review for you. I do not have blog. Well, i just think instead of spending money to try a lot of brands to find the one, I would rather read from users. According to a lot of celebrities in vietnam and my wealthy friends, they all use de la mer cream so I would give it a try. Good thing about it, you do not have to buy eye cream or a lot of stuff because itself is enough. As for cleanser, my friends swear over Octamiva Cleansing balm too and it won some awards, but it is expensive too, I am not sure if i will buy it yet. $101 for 1.7 oz.
