Review: Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

I ran into this mask when I went to Korea last summer. I was only familiar with the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask as it was the original product. I didn't do any further research to find out that it has a counterpart because I didn't really like the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. I found it too weak. It didn't brighten my face and it didn't tighten my pores. It didn't really seem to suck much of the impurities that clay masks are known to do. So when I saw these two clay masks side by side, I asked an Innisfree store attendant what the differences were and he told me that Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask was for drier skin whereas the Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask was for oilier skin types who needed more pore refinement. So I took the plunge and bought one to try!

Review: Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Pack

I finally have the motivation to try this line out. In general, I'm a bit lazy to use masks. But I suffered from a huge cold last month and my face was so dry. My nose looked horrible with dry flaky skin from blowing my nose too much. So I decided to use this for some intensive restorative and moisturizing therapy.

Review: Belif First Aid Overnight Brightening Mask

Finally getting to review the last two products that I bought from the Korean brand "Belif." My face always has this unhealthy dark tone, kind of like I haven't had adequate sleep and food for a week, even though I've been sleeping and eating perfectly fine. I also have some red spots and bumps every once in awhile. That's why I always need to use a brightening cream. So I decided to try this brand's brightening product.

Review: Belif First Aid Deep Pore Care Mask

This is my third product review from the Korean brand "Belif." This summer when I went to Korea again a friend of mine recommended this Korean brand called "Belif." I've actually never heard of this brand before but when I went to the Lotte Duty Free floor I found a small booth selling Belif products...and impulsively bought like 5 products from them.

Review: Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask Green Tea

This was a mask I received as part of a package from buying Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask (will do a review on that when I've used it a few more times). Since my plan to buy The Saem EGF + Snail + Syn-Ake mask while I was in Seoul didn't work out because it was replaced by a not so great newer version, I thought I might as well try out these free masks.

Review: The Saem Beaute de Royal Snail and Red Ginseng Intense Gel Mask Sheet

The Saem isn't one of the more popular brands like Skinfood, Missha, Etude House, or Innisfree, but I really fell in love with their EGF + Snail + Syn-Ake mask when I first went to Seoul a few years ago. So this time around I was all planning to haul like 60 pieces of that mask back when I realized that they've updated it to a new version! Into two new versions actually, they split the Snail and the Syn-Ake. They combined the snail with red ginseng as seen here, and the Syn-Ake with 24K Gold. Don't ask me where the EGF went lol. I asked the salesperson and they said, "This one for young people, that [Syn-Ake + 24K Gold mask] one for old people." Alright then. Since this mask was 5000won (5 USD!!!!) even in Seoul, I decided to just buy one and see how this new version compares.

Review: Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Hydro-Gel Mask

I bought this mask during my first trip to Korea at the duty free in Incheon because I wanted to use up all my won. Those who read my blog will know how I rave about Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask, which I use in my Night Skincare Routine, and Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream, which I use in my Morning Skincare Routine. Needless to say I was expecting great things from this mask...

Review: The Saem Chaga Liposome Biocellulose Sheet

I brought this mask in a 10-pack two years ago in my first trip to Seoul. Back then I didn't know much about Korean cosmetics and for some reason The Saem's masks really appealed to me. So since I was in the impulsive buying mood that many Asian Korean tourists can relate to, I bought this mask along with The Saem Cell Renew Snail Mask and The Saem Chaga White Liposome Biocellulose Sheet (which is basically the whitening version of this) without much research. Two years later...I thought this mask might be all dried up but when I opened my first one it was still dripping with liquid, so yay!

Review: Etude House Play Therapy Soft Clay Pack (Pore & Sebum Care)

Ordered another tube of my Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever Pore Primer Essence and got this as a sample. I love clay masks for pore cleansing and refining and overall skin brightening. So far the Origins Active Charcoal Mask has been my go-to clay mask, but because it's quite steep in price I'm always interested in trying out other ones. I've tried Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask, which helped in refining my pores only after I've cleaned out most of the stuff with Origins. Etude House Wonder Pore Clay Clear Pack/Mask didn't do much for me. Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask is probably the most popular of clay masks in Korean skincare and I would say is the runner up to the Origins Active Charcol Mask.

Review: Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask with scoria and green complex

I've been wanting to try this clay mask for a long time. I've heard lots of reviews about it being great and I've always wondered how it compared to my favorite clay mask, Origins Active Charcoal Mask at clearing my pores, brightening my face and preventing breakouts. I was lucky enough to find it at a reasonable price on eBay a few months ago so I purchased it!

Review: Etude House Wonder Pore Clay Clear Pack/Mask

I've tried two products from the Etude House Wonder Pore product line so far: Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner toner and Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever Pore Primer Essence. Both have exceeded my expectations and are now added into my daily routine. Seeing the great success I've had, I'm definitely going to try the rest of this line! That's why I decided to buy samples of their pore clay mask.

Review: Lioele V-line Waterdrop Sleeping Pack

When I first got this complimentary sample along with one of my internet purchases I thought, oh man what is this random unknown product sample. But then I googled it and realized this is actually Lioele's best selling product! I also automatically assumed Lioele was some unknown brand since I didn't know of any celebrity endorsers that they have and I've only seen their BB creams. Well, since this product, my impression of Lioele has definitely changed.

Review: The Saem Chaga Fermentation Liposome Good Sleep Cream

I got these samples when I bought The Saem's Cell ReNew Anti-Wrinkle E.G.F Snail Complex Syn-Ake Mask and The Saem Chaga White Liposome Biocellulose Whitening Mask while I was vacationing in Korea. I've been using Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Sleeping Mask at night for the past few months with great effects but I went on vacation this weekend and I thought, what a better time to bring a sample sleeping mask I've been meaning to try and save luggage space at the same time!

Review: TonyMoly Intense Care Dual Effect Sleeping Pack

I got this as a complimentary sample when I bought my Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil on eBay. This was actually a sample that I wanted because it's one of those sleeping masks that targets both things that I need: anti-wrinkle and whitening. I can already start to see some fine lines on my forehead. I've tried Skinfood Gold Caviar Collagen Serum but it hasn't helped my fine lines at all. I've tried Skinfood Platinum Grape Cell Essence and Cream which had potential but made the pimples on my face at the time get bigger and redder which freaked me out big time.

Review: Etude House I Need You Lemon Extract Sheet Mask

When I was in Korea, Etude House were selling a whole bunch of masks for "10+10." That is, buy one set of 10 sheet masks, get another set free. Each set was $10, so basically each mask was 50 cents. Who can resist?

When I use a sheet mask I look for several things. First is, of course, effectiveness. Second is whether or not it can stick on my face and feel comfortable (or even better, I don't feel it being on my face after awhile). This is because I don't have the patience nor the time to sit there for 25-30 minutes. I need to be doing something while I put on this mask and if I need to fix it every minute because it's falling off my face then that's an instant fail. Third is whether or not it absorbs. If I don't feel a difference in the wetness of the sheet mask after 30 minutes.. then there is a problem with the compatibility of the mask with my face.

Review: Sulwhasoo Skin Clarifying Mask

Its name isn't very indicative but this is actually a peeling mask. I bought this while I was in Korea. For those who are unfamiliar with Sulwhasoo, it is one of the two famous Korean brands that is separate from Skinfood, Missha, etc. that have only recently gained international exposure due to the popularity of BB cream. Their products are mostly for mature skin, but there are two products that are used with great praise for younger, 20-30's skin. One of them is this. The other is the Sulwhasoo First Care Serum.

My face has been looking a bit dark and uneven despite using Missha Super Aqua Detox Peeling Gel every two days and I had a new pimple pop up. Not sure what's wrong with my face this week.. maybe the stress is coming along. So I decided to try something new for my face and opened this mask.

Review: Nature Republic Snail Therapy Mask Sheet

When I was in Korea, cosmetics stores like to lure people in with samples. Nature Republic lured me in with this snail mask. I actually forgot what I ended up buying once I went inside the store...maybe their eye masks? Well whatever it is I'm sure it's in my room so I'll find out eventually

Review: TonyMoly Floria Whitening Sheet Mask

If anyone has been to the tourist spots in Korea, you will recall that there are girls outside cosmetic stores trying to lure you in with freebies. When I was passing TonyMoly's store, the girl outside was giving out whitening masks as freebie. Since whitening is one of my top concerns so I'm always interested in try out new products, I took the bait and went inside the store! I ended up buying three TonyMoly eye masks. I used one while I was in Korea and I haven't used the other two yet. Will get to trying and reviewing them another time.

Review: Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off

I bought this along with my Skinfood Black Sugar Scrub Foam (one of my two favorite products from Skinfood currently) when I was in Korea (as you can see with the price tag on top). I read some reviews and it said this mask brightens the skin and contains some small beads for exfoliation so I thought, why not?

Review: TonyMoly Tomatox Magic White Massage Pack

I bought 3 eye masks from TonyMoly back in Korea and they gave me a sample of their whitening mask as a gift. The only whitening masks that I've been using are sheet masks, notably Hadalabo Shirojyun Arbutin Whitening Mask and The Saem Chaga White Liposome Mask. For wash off, I've tried The Saem's Gem Miracle Black Pearl Oxygen Bubble Mask, but I find that gives more of a brightening effect rather than whitening in that it makes your dull skin look more radiant. Whitening, to me, is more like trying to even out the color of your dark spots so your skin looks whiter as a whole.
