Review: HERA White Program Biogenic Cream

This is my second product from HERA. Surprisingly, both products are from the same White Program line, which is for whitening. I've actually never come across HERA until getting a complimentary sample of HERA White Program Biogenic Effector. But it's endorsed by Shim Min Ah (a famous Korean actress) so although it may not be as high end as Sulwhasoo or History of Whoo, it's definitely higher end than Skinfood, Etude House, etc.

Review: Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Whitening Line

After trying out History of Whoo Seol Whitening line (I've separated my review for the CC Sun Cream from the same line here), I switched to try out its biggest competititor, Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Whitening Line. I used it for a month. Reading reviews, I've heard better things from History of Whoo, but personally I've had better success with Sulwhasoo products so I still wanted to give it a try. Last year I experimented with my own made up combination of Hadalabo Shirojyun Whitening Essence and The Saem Chaga White Liposome Biocellulose Sheet, which worked, but I'm always into trying new products, especially whitening products. Give me my white pearly skin!

I actually tried out the Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Whitening Eye Treatment first before I tried the rest of the line so I've posted a separate review of that here.

Review: History of Whoo Hwanyu Eye Cream

This eye cream is from The History of Whoo's most expensive line, Hwanyu. I've seen it range from $320 on amazon to $400 on beclo.com for 25ml. The Hwanyu line has three products (that I know of/have samples available to buy): Hwanyu essence, cream, and eye cream. I bought the essence and cream as well but gave them to my mom since I think she will be a better judge of how effective those products are. I split the eye cream with her because my eyes look, unfortunately, older than my age. I've got dark circles that look like I pulled an all-nighter when I actually slept a full 8 hours, and fine lines under my eyes that will just never go away and crease when I put Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream on.

My dark circles have improved with Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream and Sulwhasoo Essential Rejuvenating Eye Cream. The fine lines have improved with The Face Shop Smim Fermentation Concentrate Eye Cream (and a little bit from Sulwhasoo Essential Rejuvenating Eye Cream). But alas, it's not enough! After a long day I can see those fine lines returning and sometimes when I don't put enough or forget to put on The Face Shop Smim Fermentation Concentrate Eye Cream for a few days, the fine lines return like nothing ever happened. So I thought perhaps if I bought a super expensive cream like this, that it would actually fix and get rid of my fine lines? Forever? I mean why else would you pay for a $400 25ml eye cream?

My Night Skincare Routine

And here is my night skincare routine. For those who are interested in my morning skincare routine, you can check that post out here. Basically, in this post I'll be talking about the skincare products I use at night and summarize how the product is effective for me. If you're interested in getting more details or to look at the product description, I've already written a separate review for each of these products and I will provide their respective links below.

And if you're wondering...the green elephant at the bottom of the photo is to hold the yellow sample up :D

I should mention that this is my skincare routine during fall, winter, and spring. During summer, I need to use a whitening line to try to revert my tanned skin back to its original color so my night routine is totally different.

Before I delve into my routine, let me tell you a little bit about my skin as these products are targeted towards my skin's problems. I have oily/combination skin and large pores. If I ignore my large pores, 2-3 of them like to transform into pimples especially when it is that time of the month. In addition to the pores on my cheek area, I have some dark pigmentation and little bumps from the crazy acne I had 3 years ago. My skin color is very dull and has this jaundiced, unhealthy yellow tan. I also have very dark circles under my eyes and many fine lines under my eyes. As a result, my eyes look much older than the rest of my face.

My Morning Skincare Routine

It's finally here! For those who have commented on my blog and asked me to write a post about my daily skin routine, I apologize for the wait but thank you for your patience! Basically, in this post I'll be talking about the skincare products I use every morning and summarize how the product is effective for me. If you're interested in getting more details or to look at the product description, I've already written a separate review for each of these products and I will provide their respective links below.

I should mention that this is my skincare routine during fall, winter, and spring. During summer, I need to use a whitening line to try to revert my tanned skin back to its original color so my morning routine is totally different.

For those who read the title of this post, yes, I'm gonna split my morning and night routine into two posts because they are quite different and putting them together would be too messy. I'll probably do my night skincare routine next week.

Review: History of Whoo Seol Whitening Line

After 40 days, I'm finally finished trying out the History of Whoo Seol Whitening line (I've separated my review for the CC Sun Cream from the same line here). My skin gets tanned very easily even when I put on sunscreen so every summer I absolutely have to use a whitening line or else I look like potato skin when class starts. Last year I experimented with my own made up combination of Hadalabo Shirojyun Whitening Essence and The Saem Chaga White Liposome Biocellulose Sheet, which worked, but I've been hearing great things about History of Whoo's whitening line so I thought I'd give it a try. Since I'm reviewing a whole line this time I'm going to change the formatting of this post a bit.

Review: History of Whoo Whitening CC Sun Cream SPF46 PA++

I have actually been trying the History of Whoo White Seol line for some time now. I'm almost done my samples so I'll be making a review soon about the whole line but meanwhile I was given these 2 samples and I've tried them already so I thought I might as well write a review now.

CC cream is apparently the new fad after BB cream. CC stands for complete care (I think). I always found it hard to find the right BB cream for me because my skin isn't exactly pale and most of the BB creams (even at their darkest color) is too light for me. For this reason, I never planned on buying any CC cream since I thought it'd just be the same thing but I got this for free so might as well try them!

Review: Sulwhasoo Snowise Ex Whitening Eye Treatment

My second Sulwhasoo eye cream. This is from their Snowise line, which is their whitening line. Now, the whitening for eyes is a bit different than the usual whitening for the face. The whitening for the face is for tan lines, but the whitening for the eyes that I'm looking for is to "whiten" my dark circles. I'm actually trying The History of Whoo's whitening line right now, but unfortunately they don't have an eye cream from that line, so I decided to try out Sulwhasoo's instead.

If I were to summarize my eye creams until now, for my dark circles, Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream has been the most effective (doesn't remove it completely of course..for details you can read my review here).

Review: 1-Day Acuvue Define Contact Lens (Vivid style)

Yes, you read correctly, these are contact lenses. A bit of a stretch from my usual posts on this blog since this isn't exactly skincare, but these contact lenses are cosmetic in that they enlarge the appearance of your iris. Before I purchased these, I read some reviews and all said that these contact lenses felt the same as usual contact lenses, like you had nothing in your eye. But I had a slightly different experience so I thought I'd write a review.

Review: Innisfree Eco Safety Aqua Sun Gel SPF 30 PA++

This is the second sunscreen I bought this summer to try. My first one was the full version of Missha All Around Safe-Block Mild Sun Milk but I got a few red bumps right below my nose recently so I thought might as well give my face a "break" and try out the sunscreen from Innisfree since this brand is known for the "6-free" (as shown on the box in the picture): free of paraben, talc, artificial colors, animal derivatives, mineral oil, and artificial fragrances.
