Review: Innisfree Green Tea Seed Cream

My second Innisfree sample (my first one was Innisfree Minimum Moist Cream). I was quite happy I got this sample because I rarely get innisfree samples. I had no idea what this line was, but I know Innisfree is known for its natural ingredients. From my last experience with the Innisfree Minimum Moist Cream (think massive oil production), I decided to play on the safe side this time and use it at night.

Description (from cosmetic-love.com):
  • This moisture cream with Jeju organic green tea seed ingredient is formulated to provide excellent moisturizing + anti-oxidant effects to your skin.
  • Combined with green tea water, green tea seed oil and green tea EGCG that promote amazing effects to your skin help create dewy, resilient and clear complexion.
  • This product quenches thirsty skin by retaining non-sticky,dewy moisture deep within the skin as if welcome rain were to arid land.
  • Apply an appropriate amount onto thoroughly cleansed face and neck then smooth for better absorption.
My impression:

"...as if welcome rain were to arid land." How do they come up with these descriptions?

I put this on after I washed my face with Skinfood Egg White Pore Foam and Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner toner. It was lighter than Innisfree Minimum Moist Cream. In fact, light enough to be a day cream for people with moderate dry skin. The next day, everything was absorbed except for the part where my large pores are, but that is usually the case.

My face was moisturized, though I don't think this would be sufficient for people with dry skin. There were no break outs or allergic reactions. I didn't really see a dewy complexion but it was non-sticky, resilient and clear. Moisture was really the biggest and perhaps only effect that I saw. It didn't even out my skin tone, it didn't calm down the redness under my skin from those years of acne scars. It didn't brighten. I didn't feel like my skin was "refreshed." Granted, these is not what the cream promises, but I can get moisture from normal drugstore lotions. Plus, my current night mask Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask which functions as night cream does even out my skin tone, brightens and calms down the redness.

So I won't be switching to this one anytime soon.

Summary:

Moisturizes but that's about it
May not be moisturizing enough for people with dry skin
$23 for 50ml on eBay

Grade: 3/5 because it's moisturizes and creates a clear complexion (because it didn't break me out...)

Value: 2.5/5 because it's expensive for something that doesn't do anything but moisturize

Repurchase? Nope

  1. Seems like the Innisfree products aren't very good. I have never bought any, fortunately xD

  2. Have you ever tried a cosmetic product using this kind of herb called tulsi? I am looking for something like it and I think it could provide the same benefit like the green tea can. What do you think?

    1. No, I haven't tried a product with tulsi before. So I can't really say anything about it unfortunately. Let me know how it goes if you do though!
