Review: Lioele V-line Waterdrop Sleeping Pack

When I first got this complimentary sample along with one of my internet purchases I thought, oh man what is this random unknown product sample. But then I googled it and realized this is actually Lioele's best selling product! I also automatically assumed Lioele was some unknown brand since I didn't know of any celebrity endorsers that they have and I've only seen their BB creams. Well, since this product, my impression of Lioele has definitely changed.

Description (from mylioele.com):
  • Lioele V-line Waterdrop Sleeping Pack contains Swiss Alpine Extract and other botanical ingredients that helps to rehydrate, brighten and shape up face while sleeping.
  • Non greasy, cooling, refreshing and reduce puffiness and water retention overnight.
  • Before going to bed, apply an thick layer over clean dry face and massage in an upwards direction until water droplets are formed. Then gently pat into skin for better absorption.
My impression:

This sample is a little bit more than a one-time use but I just applied it all on my face generously anyways since I'm just going to be sleeping with it on. It looks pretty thick when you first squeeze it out but when you spread it around your face it becomes very dilute..almost gel-like. I massaged it around my face and patted it until I was satisfied with the amount left on my face (so it wouldn't stick and get all over my pillow). Since I was going to use this pack, I didn't use Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask which I usually do every night.

When I woke up in the morning everything was absorbed. My face was very moisturized, the most moisturized I've seen. And I was surprised because the way the outside of my skin felt, it felt like I just put a very light lotion on the night before. But when I touched my face it was supple and elastic (sounds like I'm infatuated with my face or something haha). So I agree with its claims that it helps to rehydrate, is non-greasy, cooling and refreshing.

In fact, recently, because of the heat and stress from exams, my skin (and hair) have both been really dry. Dry to the point where Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask, which is usually hydrating enough for me, was not giving my skin enough moisture because the nose on my skin was peeling off (no I didn't have a cold). This one, however, gave me adequate moisture.

I didn't see much whitening effect, it definitely didn't have the same overnight brightening effect as Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask. I also didn't find that it helped shape up my face. My face is puffy by my genes more so than my lifestyle so I didn't expect much of an effect and there wasn't much.

So for moisture retention, hydration, elasticity and stuff like that, this receives full marks. For everything else, whitening, face shaping, reduction in puffiness, I didn't see anything. Moisture on my face is usually the least of my worries (I have combination/oily skin) unless it's during exams, and the fact that Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask is better in brightening my face the next day, I think I'll stick with Missha for my daily night routine. But since it's only $8 for 60ml on eBay, I might buy this for those once-in-awhile uses, like when my face suddenly dries out because of hormones or stress and needs a little lift.

For those who have dry, sagging skin, I would definitely give this a try. I was very impressed with its moisturizing results.

Summary:

Does wonders to moisturize skin leaving skin hydrated and elastic just with one use
Didn't do much on whitening, shaping face, or reducing puffiness
$8 for 60ml on eBay

Grade: 4/5 because it excels in the moisturizing portion, but didn't perform in the other sections

Value: 4.5/5 $8 for 60ml is a very inexpensive price and I can buy this and use this every now and then to "rescue" my face

Repurchase? Yes, I think I will be.
